Boeing will take $225 million charge
Article Abstract:
Boeing Co. announced that it will assume a pretax charge of $225 million (212.4 million euros) in the third-quarter of 1999. The company is taking the charge because it has been seeing falling F-15 fighter jet orders. However, Boeing claimed that the charge would not hurt its financial turnaround. The plane maker said that the charge would not have any financial effects from its new labor union contract.
