NatWest Equity Partners are able to utilize the knowledge of local staff in their European offices in order to facilitate cross-border deals. They have offices in Spain, Germany, France and Italy and can serve the needs of Ireland and Scandinavia, with specialist teams operating out of their office in London, England. The management point out their several offices in Europe give them an advantage when working on complex cross-border transactions. NatWest Equity's deals in continental Europe were worth 11.9 billion pounds sterling, in 1997.

Bankers Trust tops UK debt league
Article Abstract:
UK Bankers Trust tops the league table of mezzanine and debt arrangers between 1991 to 1997 with a total of over 4 billion pounds sterling worth of debt arranged for 14 deals. Bank of Scotland arranged debt finance for 230 deals during the period between 1991 to 1997, totalling 2.8 billion pounds sterling. Mezzanine finance arranger Intermediate Capital Group provided 379 million pounds sterling worth of funds for 29 deals during the period between 1991 to 1997.

Finding the right partner in the US

A report by the Federal Reserve Board has revealed that private equity capital raised in the US by partnerships has totalled the same if not more than public offerings and high-yield corporate bonds issues. The private equity sector has grown significantly in the US and it is now a main source of corporate financing. Between 1980 and 1994, outstanding venture capital grew to $30 billion, from $3 billion.
