British Airways plans to overhaul its fleet
Article Abstract:
British Airways plans to overhaul its fleet. To provide more point-to-point service, the airline plans to reduce capacity on long-haul routes by shifting toward smaller widebody aircraft, such as the Boeing 777. The airline also plans to concentrate an upgraded short-haul fleet toward profitable European routes and away from the long-haul feeder traffic to London. The airline's move is part of its preparation in response to airline deregulation. The company's moves will be announced together with a major order for widebody and single-aisle planes.
