British inns fail to serve tourists' needs
Article Abstract:
The UK hotel industry is considered to be significantly less efficient than that of the US or France, according to a research firm. The report also says that such inefficiency is hurting the country's entire tourism sector. The firm projects that the world's tourism industry will grow significantly in the next 20 years, but if the UK continues to suffer from a poor hotel industry, it will not belong to the top tourist and business travel destinations. The report says there is low labor productivity in the UK hotel business, which has over 300,000 employees. It says the old hotels in the UK are cleaned and laid out less efficiently than newer ones.
