Broadnet wants to install a wide-band telecommunication network

Broadnet Czech (BC) (Dobrichovice, Czech Republic), telecommunication company, wants to install a wide-band telecommunication network in the Czech Republic. The firm wants to invest 2 bil Kc and to cover the four largest Czech cities during the first stage. BC wants to start to provide its services in Prague within six months after the awarding of a licence to use frequency blocks in a range of 26 GHz. The firm should start to provide its services in Brno, Plzen and Ostrava within a year after the awarding the licence. BC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BroadNet Europe, which has a majority stake held by Comcast (US).

Finance.eu (Prague, Czech Republic), Internet firm, has had a 25% staked acquired by the Swiss citizen Martin Saidl. The remaining 75% stake is held by the firm's co-owners Marek Polan and Michal Pysik. Finance.eu will be involved in Internet applications. The foreign partner should ensure mainly access to strategical information and contacts to the European markets. Finance.cz is connected with Finance.eu mainly due to the tradition of the server. Finance.eu has also acquired the Slovak financial portals www.peniaze.sk, www.fondy.sk and www.uroky.sk.

Vivendi is CEZ's telecommunication partner
Article Abstract:
CEZ (Prague, Czech Republic), power company, will sell a 66% stake in its telecommunication firm CEZTel (Czech Republic) to Vivendi (France). The price of the stake will be determined on the basis of the results of two audits. CEZ will require at least 4 bil Kc for the shares. CEZTel was set up as CEZ's 100% subsidiary in 2000. The firm is aimed to utilise the capacity of CEZ's network for data transmission services. In 1999 CEZ generated a net profit of 2.16 bil Kc. The company will pay neither dividends, nor directors fees.
