Budejovicky Budvar (BB) (Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic), brewing company, wants to invest CEK 380 mil in production technology in 2001. The firm focused mainly on the setting up of a distribution network during the last three years. BB extended its production by 7% to CEK 1.35 bil in 2000 compared to 1999. BB has been in a long-term dispute with Anheuser-Busch (US) about the trade mark Budweiser on the global markets.

Budejovicky Budvar plans exports to the US

Budejovicky Budvar (BB) (Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic), brewing company, plans to sell 3,000 hl of beer on the US market in 2001. The firm supplies beer to the US under the trade mark Czechvar owing to a trade mark dispute with Anheuser Busch (US). BB has sold four containers with a capacity of more than 440 hl in seven states since its entrance to the US in Oct 2000. According to an optimistic plan, BB could sell 10,000-15,000 hl of beer per year in the US during the next three years.

Budejovicky Budvar (BB) (Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic), brewing company, plans to invest in production technology from 2Q 2001. The company completed investments in the setting up of its trade network by the commissioning of its last trade branch in the Czech Republic in Apr 2001. BB wants to sell 940,000 hl of beer in the Czech Republic in 2001. It should produce a total of 1.463 mil hl of beer in 2001. BB expects revenues of CEK 2.76 bil in 2001.
