Building critical consumers: Classroom media literacy programs are teaching children how to think their way through ad messages
Article Abstract:
The media has far reaching effects, and children today spend as much time with media as in the school. With ads forming a lasting impression on their minds, it is very important that children are made media literate, so that they can understand what they see, how the ads are made and why they are made. This will enable them to critically view what is shown, as kids of today are tomorrowEs potential customers.
