Buildings in education: remodelling schools
Article Abstract:
Colleges and schools must be constantly adapted to meet changes in the curriculum and teaching practices, but they rarely have sufficient money to meet all the specific targets with one refurbishment project. The architect's plan must therefore allow for further work to be done as money becomes available, while making sure that the long-term targets are achieved efficiently. The various stages of a refurbishment project are discussed, including the analysis of existing provision, the drawing up of a strategy, establishing a brief and establishing the design.
