Bushmaster IMVs move out ahead of schedule
Article Abstract:
The Australian Army is using two ADI Bushmaster 4x4 infantry mobility vehicle prototypes in its East Timor operations. The Bushmasters have completed a 62-day deployment as protected and transport mobility assets. They were chosen over other vehicles such as the ASLAV 8x8 or the M-113A1 because of their higher anti-mine protection levels, improved habitability and lower operating costs. The Bushmasters also have cross-country capabilities that offer mobility when roads are absent.
