Medeva's shares soar 24% on Elan merger talks

Medeva PLC saw its share value rise by 24% as a result of its merger negotiations with Elan Corp. Medeva said that its talks with Elan could bring about a recommended cash bid for the company. Medeva's shares rose to 164 pence (2.49 euros) per share. It is not known as to what Elan is willing to pay. Medeva has an estimated stock market worth of approximately 449 million pound sterling.
