CABLETRON LAUNCHES PRODUCTS FOR ISPs
Article Abstract:
The $1.5 billion Cabletron Systems (CS) of USA has launched 3 new packages of Web-based network manager, Spectrum, to provide enterprise-based network solutions. In India, CS is launching its first wide area network (WAN) interface supporter for its SmartSwitch routers, when ISPs are set to go commercial. SmartSwitch is bundled with Spectrum to offer a high degree of LAN-WAN capabilities. CS acquired the Digital Network Products group from the erstwhile Digital and also took on several stable customers such as Maruti Udyog, L&T, ITC, Tisco and the Indira Gandhi Open University. (nr)

Global Daewoo is launching three new fax machine models in India. A basic personal fax machine having features like auto start, LCD display and remote control will cost Rs11,500. The GD 401 model is equipped with a 10 sheet automatic document feeder, a 100- sheet paper cassette, 256 KB memory and costs Rs18,999. The GD 102 model is an ink jet plain paper fax with optional colour printing and costs Rs26,900. The models will be available at all Global dealers in India. (khr)
