CHINA: ACTIVITIES OF SITHE CHINA
Article Abstract:
Sithe China Holding (subsidiary of Sithe Energies and Vivendi) is well implanted on the Chinese market. Based in Beijing since 1997, Sithe has been operating two power stations in China and pursuing the construction of two new stations. It also has other more or less advanced projects representing a total capacity of 1,700mW. Since 1995, Sithe China has been operating the Houjie site (66mW) which supplies the electricity department in Houjie. Sithe has also been building the Wenzhou power station which should be operational in 2001 and sell produced electricity to the Zhejiang province electricity company for 20 years. Sithe is also preparing to set the Changzhou (45mW) gas turbine into service, as part of the creation of combined cycle and cogeneration stations which will supply the region of Changzhou with electricity. Sithe China also other plans. For instance Tangshan, where a thermal power station producing 250mW generated in collaboration between Sithe and the community of Tangshan, was put in service in December 1998. The two partners are now working on phase two of the project, which includes the setting up of two new units. Finally, Sithe is working on the Puqi programme, which is a thermal power station construction project, in which US$ 454mn should be invested. This project received the go ahead from the State development and planning commission in March 1999.

VIETNAM: SUPPLY OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT

Ho Chi Minh City Power Company International Cooperation & Import Export Dept has issued an invitation to tender for the supply of two lots of electrical equipment. The first lot is for the supply of material and equipment which would increase the power of the Phu Hao Dong substation from 66 kV to 110 kV. The closing date for bids is 27 March 2001. The second lot is for the supply of material and equipment for repair and maintenance work for the 22 kV networks. The closing date is 16 April 2001. CHINA: AN ENERGY-SAVING PROJECT

China is seeking companies which can supply it with either fluidised bed boilers with an evaporation capacity of 75 tonnes per hour, or a renovation system for existing cogeneration units with an evaporation capacity of 20 tonnes per hour. This is part of an energy-saving project. Interested companies must send their declaration of interest to Shandong Energy Conservation Engineering (no date is specified).
