CME ends Polish foray with sale of TVN stake

International Trading and Investments Holdings SA has acquired Central European Media Enterprises Ltd.'s 33% stake in Poland's TVN for $50 million in cash and convertible notes. Industry analysts have said that Poland's 39 million potential television viewers are a key market in the increasingly competitive global broadcasting industry. TVN recently has experienced a string of problems, including internal problems and regulatory conflicts.

Change in rules needed for wake of big new jet
Article Abstract:
The International Civil Aviation Organization has announced preliminary standards for flying behind the new superjumbo A380 jets to avoid hazards associated with its very powerful wake. The new standards state a distance of ten nautical miles behind a landing A380 and 15 nautical miles distance if flying directly behind an A380. Formal safety regulations are expected next year.
