Nestle S.A. of Switzerland posted net profit increases of 21 percent to 8 billion Swiss Francs ($6.1 billion) in 2005 from 6.62 billion Swiss Francs in 2004. Sales rose 7.5 percent to 91.08 billion Swiss Francs from 84.69 billion Swiss Francs in 2004. The food company is considering a possible merger.

Cadbury's Europe drinks unit is sold to private-equity firms
Article Abstract:
Cadbury Schweppes PLC of the United Kingdom has agreed to sell it's European beverages unit to the Blackstone Group and Lion Capital for 1.85 billion Euros ($2.18 billion). Funds from the transaction will finance the core candy company of the food business.
