Lahoti Overseas is a registered export trade house. It declared a dividend of 25 percent for 1997-98. It made a net profit of Rs3.52 crore in the 9 months ended December 31, 1998. Its equity was Rs5.03 crore. Its annualised earning per share was Rs9.33. It exports cotton yarn. It plans to diversify into exports of textiles like fabrics, dyed cotton and polyester. The promoters hold 72.55 percent of the stake in Lahoti Overseas and the public, mutual funds and non- resident Indians the rest. It plans to secure ISO certification. (rk) (kvr)

Jeypore Sugar Company of Chennai reported net sales of Rs75.66 crore and net loss of Rs2.74 crore in 1995-96. This was despite an other income component of Rs13.90 crore. The company was saddled with a huge financial burden of Rs14.28 crore and depreciation of Rs3.30 crore. Jeypore's subsidiary, Sri Rama Distilleries Ltd, also incurred a loss of Rs0.65 crore on sales of Rs0.29 crore during the same year. (gsh)
