CRTC extends telemarketing regs

Puma plays dress-up with the CFL

Puma Canada announced that it signed a multi-year, multimillion-dollar apparel deal with the Canadian Football League (CFL) in Dec 2000. The contract makes the company the exclusive on-field jersey and sideline apparel supplier to all eight CFL clubs. Puma considers the deal with CFL as its largest marketing investment, which it hopes will be converted to revenues as the company will have immense regional exposure.

Karisma lands four pharma accounts

Karisma Communications of Toronto, Ontario, took hold of four major drug accounts, worth more than $500,000. The PR accounts include Hoffmann- LaRoche's Herceptin business and Hoffmann's Rituxan contract. The agency will handle Hoechst-Marion Roussel's Airomir business and Solvay Kingswood's Pantoloc account. With 1998 billings of more than $2 million, Karisma currently works with 20 active businesses.
