Cash Converters abrira 40 tiendas de segundamano
Article Abstract:
Cash Converters, the second-hand products retail chain, aims at totalling Pta 4,000mn sales in Spain in 1998 (Pta 2,300mn in 1997). In the first half of 1998, sales have amounted to Pta 1,487mn (+285.2% on the same period a year earlier); at the moment, Cash Converters has 30 establishments which will increase to 50 by the end of 1998. In 1999, when the national presence will be formed by 70 outlets, Cash Converters aims at doubling its sales. Plans are to have 200 establishments and a Pta 30,000mn turnover by the year 2006. *

Loewe superara el centenar de tiendas en 1999,, con 23 aperturas

The Spanish luxury clothing and accessories manufacturer Loewe (part of the French group LVMH) will increase by 23 its overseas outlets by 1999. Loewe, now present in Japan (30 shops), Asia and the Pacific (24), Paris, London, Frankfort and Portugal (1), will thus have 102 shops around the world. Latin America and the USA, are the main markets the Spanish firm would like to expand its presence. Loewe made Pta 24,000mn sales in 1997 (-1% on 1997). The main part of its income (59%) came from Europe. *

In order to increase its profitability, the Spanish tour operator Viajes Halcon plans to expand its business to attract rich clients. The company will sale luxury travelling packages in the US, Caribbean countries, Canary and Balearics Islands jointly with Viajes Barcelo. In 1996, Viajes Halcon signed an alliance with Sol Melia, Hilton and Intercontinental to have five-star hotels on the disposal of clients from the 'Halcon 5 Estrellas' luxury package.
