Central Bank of Thailand moves to resolve Phatra dilemma
Article Abstract:
The Central Bank of Thailand has reached an agreement with Thai Farmers Bank PCL on the liquidation of Phatra Thanakit PCL, a troubled finance firm in which Thai Farmers has an investment worth $180.2 million. Central bank Gov Chatu Mongol Sonakul announced that Thai Farmers will assume control over Phatra's good assets while its bad assets will be turned over to an asset management corporation which Thai Farmers intends to organize later this year.
