Ceska pojistovna (CP) (Prague, Czech Republic), insurance company, saw a profit of CEK 1.5 bil in 2000. Besides, the firm generated an extra profit of CEK 2.7 bil by the overvaluation of the tax position according to new accounting standards. In 2000 CP saw prescribed premiums of CEK 26.9 bil. CEK 9.4 bil of the sum was represented by life insurance. CP's technical reserves were CEK 74.6 bil in 2000. Its own capital is CEK 10.3 bil. CP is the largest Czech insurance company and has a 40% share on the insurance market currently. It has a 41.6% share on the Czech life insurance market.

Cesko-rakouska Pojistovna raises prescribed premiums

Cesko-rakouska pojistovna (CRP) (Prague, Czech Republic), insurance company, increased its total prescribed premiums by 33% in 2000 compared to 1999. Its prescribed premiums in the field of non-life insurance rose by 38.9% during the same period. The firm has a 2.3% share on the Czech non-life insurance market. In the field of life insurance, CRP increased its prescribed premiums by 10% in 2000 compared to 1999. The firm has a 0.9% share on the Czech life insurance market. CRP's economic result should be CEK 43 mil for 2000 compared to CEK 35.9 mil in 1999.

Kooperativa, pojistovna (KP) (Prague, Czech Republic), insurance firm, expects total prescribed premiums of CEK 13 bil in 2001. Its prescribed premiums totalled CEK 11.991 bil in 2000. The firm's most dynamic field should be life insurance in 2001. According to the level of the 2000 prescribed premiums, KP became the second largest insurance firm in the Czech Republic with a 18% share on the market. The firm has a 25% share on the car no-fault insurance market and a 6.6% share on the life insurance market. In 2000 it saw a profit of CEK 218 mil.
