Ceska Pojistovna will acquire a stake in PMB
Article Abstract:
Prvni mestska banka (PMB) (Prague, Czech Republic), bank, will have a 78% stake acquired by Ceska pojistovna (CP) (Prague, Czech Republic) in 2001. CP has offered CEK 3,350 for each share in PMB. The authorities of Prague, PMB's majority shareholder, prefered CP to the consortium of the banks Dexia (France) and Kommunalkredit Austria (Austria). A reason for the choice of CP was that the firm had offered CEK 50 mil to the Foundation for the Repair of Charles Bridge in Prague. The city of Prague had looked for PMB's strategical partner from 1998.
