China signs new oil deal, deepening ties to Sudan

Indonesian state-owned gas and oil entity P.T. Pertamina and state-run China National Petroleum Corp. have signed a 20-year contract with the Sudan government to explore a Sudanese offshore oil block and share future oil production. The agreement raises concerns due to the humanitarian crisis that continues in Sudan's Darfur region.

Eni bolsters Libya ties as rivals circle
