China's economic slowdown holds risk

Chinese economic policies have been successful so far in managing to slow that country's booming economy without leading it into a recession. Observers are expressing some concern, however, that the government's stabilizing hand may turn overly controlling, leading it to lean too heavily on old-style central planning policies rather than market-based tools to direct the country's economic growth.
