Torchias break from Edelman, form own shop

The father-and-son team of Armand and Jean-Claude Torchia have opened a new public relations firm called Torchia Communications, which would be based in Montreal, Quebec and Toronto, Ontario. Torchia Communications has a staff of 30 and specializes in promotions, special events management, sports and entertainment sponsorships. Armand Torchia is the company's chairman and CEO while his son is the president and COO. Armand has 35 years of PR experience, notably in Formula One racing while Jean-Claude used to direct the public relations of British American Racing on the F1 circuit.

Article Abstract:
An ad campaign designed to promote sports amongst youth by denormalizing the use of tobacco and targeting the tobacco industry has succeeded in creating awareness in the youth of Quebec. The campaign while praised by the non-smoking groups is criticized by the major players in tobacco industry.
