Article Abstract:
The opening up of the Chinese market and the increased international trading of their shares and bonds, has increased the need to rate these companies on their credit worthiness. Lack of transparency, government interference, failure to adhere to the international accounting standards on part of the Chinese companies poses a challenge to the rating agencies.
