CINVen ranks first among UK equity arrangers for buyouts in 1994, in a league table ranked according to value, with 11 bids at a total value of 210 million pounds sterling equity arranged. A deal involving Nutreco accounted for 110 million pounds sterling of the total. i was in second place with 174 million pounds sterling equity arranged, and first in terms of numbers of deals, with 30 deals in 1994. NatWest Ventures ranked third with 100 million pounds sterling and 10 deals.

Cinven has led several deals, during 1997, including the management buyout of Electruim for 145 million pounds sterling. The company led deals worth a total of 5 billion pounds sterling between 1992-1997. Cinven's management team prefers to make private investments of over 10 million pounds sterling, in successful companies within Europe and the UK. Cinven was part of British Coal Pension Funds when it was launched in 1997. It was bought out by its own management team in 1995.

Article Abstract:
Figures from Thomson Financial Securities shows that venture capital company Cinven led the UK buyout market between 1991 and 1998, with 51 deals having a total equity of 2.07 billion pounds sterling. Among its main deals was the 860 million pounds sterling buyout of IPC Magazines. Second in the tables is 3i with 271 deals amounting to 1.6 billion pounds sterling.
