The company has invested over HK$2 billion to buy and develop a fiber-optic network on the mainland.

Telecom hopes brighten stock prospects for Citic Pacific

Eager to assist bond market

Hong Kong officials are lobbying China to issue and trade foreign-currency-denominated bonds in the city. Hong Kong's financial infrastructure would be an ideal place for China to introduce a U.S. dollar bond program. Hong Kong is also open to developing a Yuan bond market for the mainland. Negotiations between the two entities are ongoing.
