In 1995, the Spanish clothing industry reported sales of 1,272.9 billion Pesetas (Pta). The industry boasts over 5,000 manufacturers, of which only 560 have a turnover greater than 1.5 million US dollars. Leading companies include Industrias de Diseno Textil (INDITEX) and Industrias y Confecciones (INDUYCO). Details of market structure are included, along with production, foreign trade, leading players and profiles. Part two will cover leading brands, distribution, pricing, advertising and forecasts.

Men's shirts in the Netherlands
Article Abstract:
Output of woven and knitted shirts in the Netherlands amounted to 3.8 million units in 1996, down 50% from 1993 and valued at Fl 37.2 million. The market is dominated by imports, valued at Fl 573 million and amounting to some 14,500 t, with shirt exports valued at Fl 361 million and amounting to more than 5,000 t. It is expected that casual shirts will continue taking a rising share of the market, although the total market is unlikely to show much growth.
