Production of dietary soft drinks in Germany totals some 800,000 lt/y, valued at 700 million German marks, with artificial sweetener output totalling 2,500 t, worth some 70 million German marks. Consumer sales of dietary foods stand at some 2.4 billion German marks per year. Market leader is Kruger's Flarom-Sionon brand. In the baby foods market, worth about 1.3 billion German marks, market leader is Nestle's Alete subsidiary, with Milupa leading the baby milk market. It is expected that the overall prospect for the dietary products market is good, although the baby foods market is less buoyant.

Health foods in Spain
Article Abstract:
The Spanish health foods market, which includes whole foods and food supplements, is estimated to be worth around 20 billion pesetas a year. Only around 5% of the population regularly buy health foods. There are some 100 local producers, with the largest suppliers being Santiveri and Dietisa. It is forecast that the Spanish health foods market will develop along with the growth in the Spanish economy.
