A dream of survival
Article Abstract:
The politicians are making the educational atmosphere very hostile in urban California. Proposition 187, the initiative taken in 1994 to deny illegal immigrants social services has made the densely populated immigrant neighborhoods extremely dissatisfied and angry. School authorities are being asked to produce better quality education at increasingly lesser funds. With its emphasis on sensationalism rather than success, the media has also contributed to the worsening situation.

Article Abstract:
Rain-making techniques were initially developed in the 1940s and have been used in over 40 countries world wide. The National Center for Atmospheric Research in the US is assessing the efficacy of hygroscopic-flare-seeding, with trials being carried out in Mexico. Maritime clouds are seen as especially suitable for this process. The researchers aim to assemble an international group to assess the evidence, and are seeking more funds to study cloud seeding mechanisms.
