Colgate net rises despite charges

Colgate-Palmolive Co. of the United States posted an increase in profit by 5.5 percent for the third quarter, after a restructuring that included closing plants, cutting 12 percent of the workforce and increasing the prices of its products. Sales are up eight percent to $2.91 billion from $2.7 billion last year.
