Colombia's latest horror
Article Abstract:
It is believed that up to 2,000 people could have perished in the earthquake that hit Colombia on Jan 25, 1999. So far, it is known that 880 people died in five provinces. The earthquake caused most damage in the city of Armenia, Colombia. Here, many people have been left homeless and without food and medical supplies, and there has already been criticism of the government for failing to send in emergency relief. Colombia will rely heavily on international assistance to rebuild its infrastructure and its economy.
