US Army takes dragon warrior
Article Abstract:
The US Army has taken over the evaluation and testing of the Sikorsky Dragon Warrior VTUAV, in the wake of a US Marine Corps decision not to continue supporting the program. The Dragon Warrior features a smiliar ducted rotor system as the single-engine Cypher VTUAV but introduced a second powerplant and combining gearbox, a pusher airscrew and optional wings to increase cruise speed and range. The Army will use the Dragon Warrior at its Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate at Fort Belvoir, VA.
