Come up and see my etchings
Article Abstract:
Ancient art started to appear some 35,000 years ago when modern humans began to replace Neanderthals. Decorative art involves repeated patterns, and artists could reproduce or produce these patterns only if they had good vision and muscular coordination. Art may then have functioned as a way of attracting a mate. Representational art using novelty may also have showed intelligence and imagination which would have allowed artists to find a mate.
