Commerzbank idea does not interest Banca Intesa CEO
Article Abstract:
Christian Merle, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Banca Intesa, said that the bank is not interested in Commerzbank AG's plan to form a pan-European investment bank with Intesa. Commerzbank also wants to form the bank with Credit Lyonnais SA and Banco Santander Central Hispano SA. Mr. Merle said that cooperation has to begin in the back-office level rather than in the client-contact level.

San Paolo reports first-half drop in its net profit
