Cost analysis in the time domain
Article Abstract:
A mathematical link between time series data and lot or unit data can be applied in government contract situations, such as when ordering a small quantity of tailored products. Models are often built by government cost analysts using production information that is restricted to a contract between the government and manufacturer. Cost data is not generally imparted to the government by the manufacturer unless specifically required under contract. Cost data is also not usually supplied by production lot or unit.

Stochastic production frontiers and panel data: a latent variable framework
Article Abstract:
A panel data set is used to estimate a production frontier and measure individual levels of productive efficiency by means of a mean-and-covariance structure analysis. Individual effects are treated as latent variables. This method answers the problem of modeling correlations between individual effects and exogenous variables without the need of prior knowledge of these correlations. A panel data set of French fruit growers illustrates this methodology.
