Crackdown on redfish pirates - Iceland names 18 IUU redfish ships
Article Abstract:
Iceland has started an initiative to control fishing of Irminger Sea redfish, which it considers as illegal. It has also named 18 trawlers that took part in IUU fishing in the area controlled by North-East Atlantic Fisheries Commission. According to Iceland's fisheries minister, these vessels contravened the NEAFC regulations.
