In 1994, the UK cruise market totalled an estimated 301,900 passengers, representing an 80% rise since 1989. In value terms the market has grown 76% to 316 million pounds sterling, with a rise to 380 million pounds forecast for 1994. The most popular destination is the Caribbean, although the Mediterranean, Scandinavia, the Baltic and Atlantic Islands also feature heavily. For an America that loved freaks
Article Abstract:
Brady gave dignity to the 'freaks' who performed in P.T. Barnum's circus in the 1800s. Barnum hired people who had an unusual appearance, but preferred to hire people who also had some type of talent. Several of Brady's photographs are presented.
