DENMARK: GOOD GRAIN HARVEST ANTICIPATED
Article Abstract:
The grain harvest in Denmark this autumn is valued at DKr8.7bn (US$1.1bn), up a couple of hundred million krone on 2000. This is, however, not a record harvest, according to Asbjorn Borsting, managing director of Dansk Landbrugs Grovvareselskab (DLG). Carls Aage Pedersen, head consultant of Landskontoret for Planteavl in Skejby, estimates that this autumn's harvest will total between 8.7 and 9.2 million tonnes of grain. A record harvest of 9.61mn tonnes was reported in the autumn of 1990.
