DENMARK: NETBANKS TO PAY MORE FOR USING CASH DISPENSERS
Article Abstract:
The chairman of Danish regional banks, Carsten Andersen, wishes to increase the fee that banks charge netbanks for using existent cash dispensers. Netbanks do not have cash dispensers of their own. Skandiabanken and Basisbank both offer free credit cards to their customers and pay a DKr3.75 for each withdrawal. The demand comes after Skandiabanken has managed to get 10,000 new customers in 10 weeks. Traditional banks want netbanks to pay their share of the construction and maintenance of cash dispensers and plan to have a reform ready by autumn.
