DENMARK: ON DANFOSS EXPANSION PLANS
Article Abstract:
Danfoss, the Danish producer of compressors, is to expand its plant in Slesvig, Germany, at a rapid pace, whereas the group's plant in Flensborg is to grow at a somewhat slower pace. In Flensborg, Danfoss has a 1,600-strong workforce whereas the total workforce is Germany amounts to 3,000. Overall, the Danfoss group has a workforce of 17,000. Danfoss is not planning to move production from Germany back to Denmark despite the higher cost level in Germany. The Flensborg plant is expected to raise production level by at least 5% a year, which means that production at the plant will soon reach eight million compressors.
