DENMARK: TS SEAFOOD TO OPEN NEW PLANT

TS Seafood, the Danish producer of salmon fillets, is investing in a new 700 sq. metres plant in Esbjerg. Through this investment, the company doubles capacity. Production totals about 35 tonnes a week; the weeks before Christmas up to 58 tonnes. TS Seafood imports salmon from Norway and the Faeroe Islands, and most of the fillets are sold abroad, mainly in Germany, France and Benelux.

DENMARK: FISH INDUSTRIES TO CO-OPERATE

The two Danish fish industries Hevico and Ole Brag are to start co-operating. The companies will move into new premises at Haderslev, Jutland. The co-operation aims at increasing sales on European markets. Hevico produces 4,000 tonnes of trout a year and is the biggest producer of smoked trout fillets in Europe. Ole Brag is a producer of smoked salmon.

DENMARK: NORLAX AIMS FOR GROWTH

Danish fish company Norlax wants to grow by 30 percent over the coming 3 years. A new strategy will make Norlax Europe's largest exporter of smoked salmon. A new factory in Poland is to become the basis of Norlax' expansion into Eastern Europe. Other prioritized markets include Italy, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Australia and Brazil.
