DIGITAL TV-FREMTID SAT P SKINNER
Article Abstract:
Directed by Nordig, a joint venture consisting of all the Nordic public service TV-stations and the national telecom companies, an agreement has been struck between all TV-stations and telecom companies in the Nordic area. The agreement regards a common standard for digital TV and a so called emigration plan, where the future mix of TV- and Internet activities are laid out. The inspiration for the participating companies is the Nordic mobile phone-market, where a common standard enabled a booming market. The philosophy regarding the agreement is that the technical standards will be the same and that they are open for everyone. The competition will be about the content, not about the standard.
