DRDO WARNS AGAINST USE OF US SECURITY SOFTWARE
Article Abstract:
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has warned against using the network security software from USA as it poses a hazard. The data traffic and network security software can be easily hacked from USA. Vendors of USA are permitted to sell only software that can be tracked by the National Security Agency. The Centre for Artificial Intelligence (CVC) unit of the Defence Research and Development Organisation is developing communication tools and they would be available in 3 months. It has developed software tools for wide area networks that offer protection from hackers. (rk) (kvr)

LCA BUSINESS EXPECTED TO FETCH HAL Rs30,000 CR
Article Abstract:
Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) of Bangalore is expected to do business of Rs30,000 crore from its Light Combat Aircraft (LCA). The Indian Air Force is scheduled to acquire over 200 LCAs between 2003 and 2010 and many more afterwards. The induction of the LCA will increase domestic content in defence production to 50 percent from 30 percent now. The defence ministry has asked Indian Airlines to buy 50-seater aircraft from HAL to help the domestic aerospace industry. (khr)
