DSQ SOFTWARE NET GOES UP 64% TO Rs24.92 CRORE

DSQ Software Ltd, Chennai, has posted a 64 percent jump in net profit to Rs24.92 crore in 1997-98 compared to Rs15.15 crore (1996-97). Its turnover has increased by 83 percent to Rs116.78 crore (Rs63.91 crore). It has declared a dividend of 20 percent for 1997-98. It plans to spend Rs50 crore on capital expenditure during 1998-99. The company has projected a growth of 125 percent in income in the next two years to three years. DSQ expects to earn $30 million from ERP and $20 million from web-enabled business. The company has plans to offer implementation of ERP solutions for clients worldwide. The company is setting up ERP implementing centres in the country - the centre at Chennai would specialise in implementing Baan, the centre at Calcutta would work on SAP and the centre at Mumbai would service Oracle Financial and JD Edwards customers. HCL SOFTWARE EXPORTS CROSS Rs1,000-CR TURNOVER MARK

HCL Corporation has registered an export turnover of Rs1000 crore in software for 1997-98. It has recorded a turnover of Rs2400 crore in the total IT business in 1997-98. Its software exports have registered a growth of 82 percent from Rs530 crore in 1996- 97. The ratio of software and hardware to total turnover was 40:60 two years ago. This has now reversed with the company's changed focus to software and services. Income from services has touched Rs1500 crore in 1997-98. (rk)
