DaimlerChrysler's Eaton makes efforts to reassure investment community

DaimlerChrysler AG co-chairman Robert J. Eaton is meeting with US securities analysts to reassure them that the firm is suitable for US mutual funds. DaimlerChrysler announced the week ended Mar 19, 1999 that its percentage of US shareholders had fallen to 25%, down from 44% in Nov 1998. Eaton is trying to convince investors that the merger of Chrysler and Daimler is proceeding smoothly, and that the companies will succeed in achieving the $1.4 billion in cost savings planned for 1999.
