British aid: stopping the decline
Article Abstract:
The amount of foreign aid distributed by Great Britain has been declining in recent years. In terms of both the absolute amount of aid given and the amount of aid given relative to GNP, Britain has been overtaken by the Soviet Union. There are signs of growing political support for more foreign aid in Britain. An increasing amount of British aid is being routed through the World Bank and the European Community.

Formulating strategies for industrial development: an electronics example
Article Abstract:
The role of governments in formulating industrial development strategies is discussed. The three principal steps in addressing the problem are: conducting a systematic analysis of the factors that affect the development of different types of companies in specific industries; evaluating the country's competitive position, and forming strategies to improve weaknesses of companies.
