Denmark: Danisco's interim results

Article Abstract:

Danisco, the Danish foods and food ingredients producer, reports a DKr444mn (US$53mn) profit before tax in the first quarter of fiscal 2001/2002 vs. DKr320mn (US$38mn) in the same period in the last fiscal year. Consolidated profit climbed from DKr183mn to DKr281mn and turnover dropped from DKr5,988mn to DKr4,952mn. This was above analyst expectations. Danisco anticipates a group result of DKr900-975mn for the whole of 2001/2002. This is a revision of the earlier estimate of DKr900-1,000mn).

DENMARK: HARTMANN'S 1999 RESULTS

Article Abstract:

The Danish packaging producer Brdr Hartmann reports a DKr 50mn (USD 6.5mn) net profit for 1999, down from DKr 66mn in 1998. Increased prices of raw materials and energy as well as start-ups of new businesses in Europe contributed to the reduced profit. Turnover increased to DKr 1,153mn from DKr 1,066mn. For 2000, the company anticipates higher profits through raising prices of its products.

Danisco reports an ordinary pre tax result of DKr320mn(USD37.2mn) for the first quarter of 00/01 compared with an pre tax result of DKr325mn(USD37.8mn) during the first quarter of 99/00. The net turbover for the first quarter of 00/01 DKr5988mn(USD696.3mn) compared with DKr7084mn(USD823.7mn)for the first quarter of the year 99/00.
