Denmark: Impact of terror attacks on media consumption
Article Abstract:
Gallup carried out a survey in Denmark to examine how a violent event such as the 11 September terror attack in New York affects the media consumption of an average citizen. Gallup registered Danes' media consumption before and after the 11 of September including TV, newspapers and the Internet. Gallup TV Meter measured viewing time for new forecasts during a period of one and a half months prior to and after 11 September. Total viewing time for DR 1 and TV2 rose from 11 to 16 minutes a day between these periods. As regards newspapers it was difficult to register any change as most newspapers are subscriber-based. Internet consumption, on the other hand, reported a steep rise in the first weak following the terror attacks.

Denmark: Berlingske Tidende focuses on Copenhagen area
Article Abstract:
The strong competition between the two daily Danish newspapers Berlingske Tidende and Jyllands-Posten is now over. Berlingske Tidende is changing its strategy to a new focus on the Copenhagen area, leaving Jyllands-Posten as the only large newspaper focusing on the whole country. Instead, Berlingske Tidende's new main competitor is Politiken, which also focuses on the Copenhagen region. Berlingske Tidende's new strategy is a result of the work of the new chief editor and CEO Karsten Madsen. He also wants to look over the newspaper's high paper consumption, which may result in fewer supplements. He says that the material is going to be more sharply edited and better prioritised than previously.
