Denmark: KMC to target the Far East
Article Abstract:
KMC (Kartoffelmelscentralen), the Danish producer of ingredients based in Brande, is to take control of a Vietnamese factory that produces tapioca starch. This move will secure the company a solid base for strong growth in the Far East. It will also generate a 10% growth in turnover in the first year. This is the first time the company enters into other type of starch production than that of potato starch, which also means improved marketing prospects. KMC's MD Uffe Andreasen says the company's next pre-tax profit to climb three-fold from DKr73mn in 1999/2000.
