Denmark: Mergers anticipated in the media business
Article Abstract:
PA Consulting Group's Lars Nordenlund says a wave of mergers is anticipated in the Danish media business as a result of poor earnings in the trade. Berlingske, Egmont and Jubii or TV3, Jyllands-Posten and SOL are mentioned as possible constellations regarding consolidation in the business. A survey among 24 Danish daily newspapers show that they have lost some DKr600mn of their equity capital over a three-year period.
